Good Words for a Friday in the Rain (10)

I have been in the Rain long enough to see NEW voices rise up from nowhere and be heard.

When I read of the frustration others have when it comes to being "heard" in the Rain, I just want to encourage them all to... Work on your "voice"! With practice it will come and you will be heard.

So when I found this quote of Strauss, a man who WROTE music not words, I knew the were perfectly good words.

Practice It Forward...

Craig--I really like your inspirational posts. It is difficult to explain "voice" to a new blogger. It is not just about writing words it is about the underlying message and passion. As your post suggests, finding your voice is key to being heard...Good post!

Thanks for reinforcing this message to others who might be afraid to speak up.

It takes awhile.  But tapping into someone's real voice online is a worthwhile endeavor.

Craig,

As one who has been raised on classical music, played the french horn in High School then College and has been singing in church choir for over 15 years, I understand and appreciate what you are saying here.....

Practice it forward!!

Well said! My voice is the voice of a 22 year old trying to make it in an industry where experience seems to be (more or less) EVERYTHING! My voice has to have passion, sincerity, maturity, wisdom, and Creativity... or I wont be heard.

Great post!

Becoming a great communicator is an admirable pursuit.  I know I am still a long way off, but I will continue to practice, practice, practice until I make it.  Thanks, Craig.

Hi Craig,

Oftentimes it is a bit intimidating for someone new to the 'site' or new to blogging to have the courage to voice their opinion....I was there once too.  I agree that it is important to overcome that initial 'shyness' and jump into this grand 'puddle' and share!

We all have our unique voice for a reason. If we leave ours out, the harmony loses it's fullness. Even if you have a "creak" in your voice, we would be less without it. So speak out. You do have something to say. Thanks for the post, Craig. I just discovered your blog today.

Finding your voice is important and knowing what you believe and why you believe it is how you find it. Once you know these things  you can speak passionately and not just repeat others words.
